Doesn't the K3 utility automatically check if there is a new release?
If so, just run that.  If not, why not?

Beta Releases of K3 firmware are released as .zip files and are not
automatically recognized by K3Utility.

We do this as an extra step to insure those loading the release
understand this is beta test firmware for user testing, and it not a
formal release of K3 firmware. It has already been tested here, so it is
usually very stable. We release it first as a beta version for a short
period of time so that we can get additional feedback from customers
prior to formally releasing it and using it in production radios.
