Fixed audio out

ac0h
Hello all,

I've got the fixed level board all soldered up for my K2/100 and now
I've got a question.
What to do with the output?
Dedicated jack which means drilling the case or unused pin on the mic jack?
I'm kinda leaning toward the mic jack as it eliminates and audio cable
to my Signalink USB interface, but, using the jack means I can use the
K2 with anybody's interface in a pinch.

What do you think?

TIA.

Kevin,

It is your K2,so the choice is yours.  I prefer using the spare mic jack
pin myself, but then I don't change interfaces often and when I do it is
one that I built, so I can handle that sort of thing in the interface.

A suggestion for using just any interface - when that need comes, you
can always use the headphone jack output even it is not fixed level.

There is room in the top cover transverter holes, the K60XV holes can be
used if not already occupied (if you have an older K2 without those
holes, drill one using the template in the K60XV instructions).  There
is also (barely) room on the rear panel near the key jack for an RCA
jack or 2.5mm phone jack.  A 2.5 mm phone jack can also be made to fit
above the coaxial power jack if one is careful.
