[Flexradio] Dayton

Don Rasmussen
Was it the fans? Man I got the same impression, some
good old fashioned American muscle. Love it.

===============================

Man, those fans....kinda reminds me of the back end of
a 50's car with dual exhaust.

Wonder if you get a bermuda bell or an diving horn
with the early orders.

Does the K3 have fins on the back panel?

I think the folks at Aptos have retro down to a science.

I guess all one needs is a fox tail to go on a whip type antenna.

With so many filter options and second receivers, you could have
a real good time playing 'What's under the hood?"

K3 Fans (WAS: [Flexradio] Dayton)

Ron D'Eau Claire-2
I think Wayne and the gang took to heart all the grousing about the
"whizzer" on the back of the KPA100. As I understand it, they purposely
chose oversized fans that would run slowly and quietly instead of something
that sounds like the "roadrunner" is about to fly by with Wylie Coyote in
hot pursuit.

The way I heard it was that they didn't want to increase the price of the K3 to
handle paying the royalties.

This also (probably) means it can run a full 100W on RTTY.
And since the fans can be easily upgraded, it probably will be able to
do that in 105F ambient.

G'day,

I assume this is pre production.  The alignment of those fans leaves much
to be desired.  I wouldn't care to show anyone that view.

Regards,

Mike VP8NO
