I recently purchased this K2/10 (S/N 1848) from the original owner/builder. It is built with very good craftsmanship, and includes the noise blanker and 160-m modules. Additionally, a partially built (90%) SSB module and an unbuilt ATU module is included. The ATU module is missing several components and hardware, all of which are readily and inexpensively available from Elecraft. I have made a complete list of all the AWOL parts. I have a set of prewound toroids from the “Toroid Guy” for the SSB and ATU modules that will be included in the package (A $30 value by itself). All manuals are also included.
The radio looks great and is totally unmolested. The only problem is that the display is off frequency by varying amounts depending on the band. I’m sure that the frequency calibration procedure, as outline in the manual, will solve this problem. I will also include an alternate calibration method passed on to my by Gary Surrency of Elecraft. Unfortunately family issues and work priorities would require me to “back burner” the completion of the modules and tuning up the radio for several months. I’m lucky right now to turn on my K3 for an hour or two a week. The above package is available for $380 plus shipping. If interested please contact me off-list at [hidden email]. 73 de K6SBA David in Santa Barbara, CA ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

That is a "K2 at a bargain price". For any who may be concerned about
the dial calibration, I invite you to visit my website www.w3fpr.com article on K2 Dial Calibration. I would recommend that the KSB2 option be made functional before aligning the KSB2 filters. 73, Don W3FPR On 8/1/2012 12:45 AM, [hidden email] wrote: > I recently purchased this K2/10 (S/N 1848) from the original owner/builder. I am K6GC and my Elecraft K2/100 is S/N 838.
I've been shopping for a pelican case and the model 1400 is a close fit, but not for me since I have the KAT100 Velcro attached to the bottom (which makes it taller than the K2/100) Anyway, I notice these cases come with a 3 pad "sandwich." I'm wondering how to make the middle sandwich allow the proper cutouts for the VFO knob etc. the KAT100 is more of a box and should be easier to fit. Do any of you at the factory have any advice for me? I would love to transport my K2/100/KAT100 in a safer manner than the canvass bag I've been using. Pelican's foam inserts have pick&pluck precut foam which allows you to shape the middle section of foam to the device you're storing in it. Using your fingers you can easily remove the precut squares of foam until the entire cutout closely matches the shape of your radio including the knobs.

An easy way to get the right cutout is to place the radio on the foam and stick wooden toothpicks into the foam at the corners and the knob outline to mark the the "best fit".
