Hi,
Can those that are not able to attend and get to the Elecraft booth get some information from those lucky enough to be in attendance? A narrative from those there could be of interest to those of us at home. Anything new? Are they displaying and taking KAT500 orders? Any updates on KX3 options and status? Inquiring Elecrafter's want to know.... If KAT500 orders are going to be taken at Dayton I'm sure Elecraft, in
fairness to those who can't get there, will put the KAT500 on the website order page concurrently, especially as price and some other details have still to be announced. Also, time difference and cost can make it difficult to call from outside the USA. 73 to all Geoff G3UCK -----Original Message----- From: Phil Hystad Sent: Friday, May 18, 2012 8:35 PM To: [hidden email] Cc: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] For those at Dayton... Thank you Ken!!
Based on that I called and there are still people at Aptos and I was able to place the order and get my time for placement in the queue. As much as I wanted the kit the difference was minimal and if like the KX3 I paid a small premium for not only factory assembly but probably an earlier ship date. Let the wait begin. Thank you Vicky for taking the order, well done. Now if I was at Dayton I could ask a technical question. Will I be able to make my antenna selection within the KAT500 at the K3. That would help with laying out the station. I could place the KAT500 within sight but out or arms reach. Saving valuable close desk/shelf space. Anybody know having asked that question at Dayton or by being a field tester. 73, Bob K2TK On 5/18/2012 3:15 PM, Ken Allen wrote: > Taking orders for the KAT500 with expected delivery starting August ( yes, > this year). > > Ken KB8KE > > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] > [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Bob > Sent: Friday, May 18, 2012 3:30 AM > To: Elecraft Reflector > Subject: [Elecraft] For those at Dayton... > > Hi, > > Can those that are not able to attend and get to the Elecraft booth > get some information from those lucky enough to be in attendance? > > A narrative from those there could be of interest to those of us at > > home. YeeeeHaaaaa! Got mine in as well. Talked to Madalyn (think I spelled it right) and she said she was gonna kill whoever let it slip that it could be ordered by phone - LOL! I guess the phones have been ringing off the table since the news got out.
I haven't seen a price posted yet, but the wired version is $699.95 plus shipping and the kit version will be $649.95 plus shipping. They aren't able to figure the shipping yet because it's not up on the website. Unfortunately, Eric (who does the website updates) is at Dayton, so you
will not likely see it on the website until he returns to Watsonville/Aptos. Just my opinion, but then Eric has surprised us with some wondrous accomplishments before, and he may do it again if he is not too tired tonight. 73, Don W3FPR On 5/18/2012 4:01 PM, Geoffrey Downs wrote: > If KAT500 orders are going to be taken at Dayton I'm sure Elecraft, in > fairness to those who can't get there, will put the KAT500 on the website > order page concurrently, especially as price and some other details have > still to be announced. Somehow those ladies who answer the phone at Elecraft can read minds. When I called and said I'd like to place an order, they asked me if I wanted to order the KAT500!
