Freq Counter for Receiver align

Don Baucom
I have a chance to pickup a Kenwood DG-5 freq. display for my TS-520SE. It is also a 40mhz counter in 100hz increments. Could I use it for the 4 mhz oscillator Calibration on page 63. Is the DG-5 accruate enough for this purpose.

Im getting close to this test point ( Im putting the crystals in today and will wind some toriods)

Thanks

Don,

I suggest you skip that.  First of all, the 100 hZ increments are not
close enough, and secondly, the exact frequency of the 4 MHz reference
may end up slightly different than 4 MHz.
Wait until you have fully assembled your K2 and then go to my website
www.w3fpr.com and do the K2 Dial Calibration procedure - it will put the
4 MHz reference on the correct frequency and give you correct dial
calibration.
