For those who don't know, as a matter of principle, you should never follow instructions to pay someone else part of an uncleared international payment, from someone you don't know, as this is technique commonly used by 419 scammers. When they do it, the cheque will eventually bounce, but the payment you have made will turn out to be unrecoverable.
