Got my K1 ATU working - Thanks Everyone!

Norm Klieman
I finally got my K1 ATU working tonight and made a 40
meter qso. I just wanted to thank everyone for working
with me and especially Don, Steve N0TU, Dave G4AON and
Randy for all of their encouragement. I am sure I
still have more questions, but it is great to be back
on the air after being off for the last 12 months.

K3 Noise Blanker - Hey! It works!!!

Matt Zilmer
I have to admit I finally heard a NB work today.  It was K3 #24's.
Frankly, I'm amazed.... and very pleased.  I had been trying to prove
that the K3's NB wouldn't be any better than the other dozen or so
I've had time to try out over the years.  Read on.

There is some bizarre OTH monopulse radar going on, quite audible on
60m channels. It registers around S8 here.  I can kill it with IF MED1
or MED2 and a light dusting of the DSP T2-7.  With the NB on these
settings, the band noise shows S5 or so.  Back to the normal
background noise.  Mainly city-dweller noise.  No pops.  Just sky
noise or local stuff.

I apologize for being A Doubter.  At least there is a freq and time
for all to see the same results:  0500Z or so would do it, at least on
the West Coast of the US.  I've observed the same basic stuff(tm) on
60m over a span of weeks of band-scanning.

Not bad Elecraft!  Rep rate is maybe 8-10 Hz or so, and there are two
sources.  One at the S8 level, and another about S9+15.  Both can be
made to disappear at will.  With the right noise blanker that is.

Thanks, Wayne and Eric.

matt, W6NIA

Greg - AB7R
I did a demo for a friend and when he saw how well the NB worked on electric fence
noise and some other "stuff" he decided then he was going to get one.  They did a
great job on the NB as with the rest of the K3.

Re: K3 Noise Blanker - Hey! It works!!!

Gary Scott-4
I have never received a report of any issues with my transmitted signal, with
any radio, from the truck, that applies to the K3/K2 and also an IC 7000. I
spend alot of time on a net so the folks would let me know if corrections
were needed.

PS The exception to that comment is when I turn the Mic gain to high on the
K3 ,I got negative comments ;-)  . The gain go's as high as 60, and people
say it sounds good at the 30 setting, with no compression, with a Elecraft
hand mic

I'm sorry to say I have not found any noise that the NB will remove yet.
This may just be a lack of suitable noise at my QTH or I'm doing it wrong.
