The voulume on the headphones left is about 50% of the level on the right side. I have tried several different headphones to eliminate them as the problem. Is there any way to balance out the level? I am using the rear phone jack.

You can set CONFIG: SUB AF to BALANCE and the SUB AF knob will balance
between left and right. 73, Don W3FPR W4GRJ wrote: > The voulume on the headphones left is about 50% of the level on the right > side. Just changed CONFIG:
SUB AF to BALANCE, but I don’t
think it is acting correctly. Now the sub af controls the volume of the left.
Turning sub af full ccw it is at max volume but is still about 50% lower than
the right. Turning sub af full cw it is at 0% volume. So, the sub af control is
only changing the volume of the left side only. From: Don Wilhelm-4 [via
Elecraft] [mailto:[hidden email]] You can set CONFIG: SUB AF to BALANCE and the SUB AF knob
will balance

Using the Sub for balance works fine for in or out of Diversity mode.

Hmmm... it works here by just tapping the SUB "on" and setting CONFIG:
SUB to Balanced. Inner knob (Main AF) controls the overall volume level and outer knob (Sub AF) controls left-right balance. 73, Ken K3IU Portsmouth, RI On 12/27/2009 11:09 AM, Vic K2VCO wrote: > Don Wilhelm wrote: > >> You can set CONFIG: SUB AF to BALANCE and the SUB AF knob will balance >> between left and right. >> > Unfortunately this only works in Diversity mode. > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

CONFIG: SUB BALANCE allows you too use the SUB af gain control to act as a balance control between the main and sub receivers, either in diversity or normal mode. What it does *not* do (and would be nice) is to work as a stereo balance control when the sub receiver is turned off or not installed. -- 73, Vic, K2VCO Fresno CA http://www.qsl.net/k2vco ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Similarly, try a different set of headphones. It could be the
headphones themselves at fault. 73, Don W3FPR Augie Hansen wrote: > W4GRJ wrote: > >> Just change CONFIG Spkrs to 2 ..
