Heil Traveler Headset w/K2??

Steve_wGØAT
Can anyone tell me if I have the correct Jumper Block configuration on
the K2 for my Heil Traveler Headset? (Not the ProHeadset but the
Traveler)  I'm using a Kenwood 8-pin adapter cable HSTA-K8 for the
headset. So far everything seems to be working FB except for the audio?

I followed the Kenwood setup (2nd table) on P18 of KSB2 SSB adapter
manual.
jumper block setup as follows:
AF -    1  JUMPERED
PTT - 2  JUMPERED
DN -  3  JUMPERED
UP -   4  JUMPERED
Func- NC JUMPER REMOVED
5V  -  ?   JUMPER REMOVED
GND - 7 JUMPERED
GND -8  JUMPERED

Results are no mic audio? Suggestions (besides tossing out the headset
please!)

Tks Steve

Re: Heil Traveler Headset w/K2??

It's WORKING!  Woohoo!

And the winning formula is:

All the jumpers are plugged in on the K2 jumper block EXCEPT #5 and
the 10K bias resistor is wired between pins 1 & 6 on the back of the
mic jack. Bingo! We have audio from the Heil Traveler to the K2!

Thanks to all for the last minute resolution and help! It was a puzzle
I wasn't sure I was going to solve?!
After removing the front panel plus knobs more than 10-times I only
wish I knew about Gary's IMAs before hand! Oh well I like to do things
the hard way. Plus I learn a lot! Doh.

And Don in case you're wondering it's Rooster who carries the heavy
loads and expendable items like the mic, tent, water and food. Peanut
carries the K2 and other valuables. Reason is Rooster tends to bash
his way through the undergrowth like a bulldozer thus I call him my
QRO goat. Peanut thinks about where he's going and finds his way
around with skill and finesse thus he's the QRP goat. And thus his
load is less likely to get beat up!

Cheers, Steve
