Heil boom set microphone issue

I have a Heil boom mic with n IC element. I have their adapter which I used
OK with my K2 with no problems. I am not a SSB operator so I had not used my
2 year old K3 on SSB. Today I tried to do that but their is no audio. I have
the menu selected for Front panel and the Vox gain is 51. It does not work.
Not sure what else. VOX on USB on etc so I wonder if I need a different
adapter than what works for my K2. Any suggestions ?

Jim,

The "Ic" indicates an Icom element which is an electret and needs bias.
Turn on Bias (tap the "1" button to toggle bias on/off) and it should work.

Turn on the bias. Select CONFIG:MIC SEL and tap 2 to toggle bias.

Correction:
The MIC SEL is in the MAIN menu, not CONFIG.
