Powered up my K3 this morning and when I hit the PTT the ERR KEY came up.
Couldn't turn off with power button, so I powered down with the PS.  After
turning back on, the message was still there.  I read the manual but it
really didn't tell what to do for that ERR.  Please.

Have you checked your key isn't catching on something?  The error is  
basically telling you that you switched on with a PTT active.

If the rig is keyed by any method at power-up -- key, paddle, PTT, even
VOX -- you'll see this warning message. Transmit is inhibited until the
source of keying is removed, at least briefly. Then the message goes
away.
