Help with Freq. & memory!

JIM DAVIS-11
 From a "Greenhorn",

What I want to do is get a frequency (50.125mhz) into the quick memory, which I suppose is "M1-M4"
circular config on the right-hand side of the rig like when using CW on any particular band and
recording a "CW macro-msg". Some quick method of getting that particular freq. into it, so that
whatever other band I'm on when I want 50.125mhz I'd hit (1) button!!!

Can anybody out here help me with a STEP-BY-STEP LESSON to accomplish the goal???

Regards,

Jim/nn6ee

PS,
Looking thru the manual it did'nt realy explain that particular PROCEDURE or else I missed
something!

Jim,

There are two sets of "quick memories" in the K3.  One uses the 0 to 9
digit keypad, and can store both VFOs, mode filter presets, antenna
selection and a few other settings.  In addition, if the CONFIG: MEM 0-9
menu item is set to BAnd SEL, these memories will change to th elast
used frequency, mode, etc used on any one band.
The second set of 'quick memories' use the M1 - M4 buttons, and can
store up to 4 memories PER BAND. (8 for each band in all if you count
the A and B vfos).

To set a memory, first set both VFOs up the way you want them (freq,
mode, etc), tap the V>M button and then tap the quick memory you want to
store into.
To retrieve the contents, tap the M>V button and then the quick memory
button where your info is stored.

In all cases, storing and retrieving from the memories is a 2 button
process.  There is no "one tap" memory retrieval, it takes only 2.  The
'quick memory' buttons are shared with other functions (M1-M4 also
retrieve messages), and the 2 button sequence allows multiple uses of
the same buttons.

BTW, the remaining 90 memories (10 thru 99) are stored and retrieved by
the same process except that you must select the memory slot you want
with the VFO A knob. After you tap the M>V or V>M button, you will see
the memory number displayed in the VFO B window.

It is all in the manual under "Memory Controls".  Just follow the
process one step at a time, then read it again after you have tried it
once and it will make more sense.
