Help with K3's KDVR3?

[N2ZDB-2]

I am not able to record in all the bank memories. Bank 1 memories  1 and 2
are used and I am not able to record in 3 and 4 even though I have tried  to
record 15 second messages.....when I go to play them back it just shows  
"END"!
 
Do the bank memories have there own memory separate from the AF RECORD  
memory? If you record 90 seconds of REC memory does it "use up" bank  memory???

Well my KDVR3 was working tonight for a short while but now it is not  
again.  For some reason only M1 and M2 are working in BANK 1 and BANK 2  doesn't
work again at all!
 
I can't believe I am the only one who has had this problem? I am wondering  
if this is a firmware bug or just a defective module?
