Help with K3 transverter setup

Julian, G4ILO
I have acquired a Spectrum Communications 10m - 2m transverter. This transverter has a single connection to the K3 and requires about 5W drive for maximum power. I do not have the KXV3 interface on my K3, which in any case is not intended for this transverter.

I have set up a transverter band on the K3 and the display shows 145.000 MHz. I can receive a local repeater OK. But I cannot transmit. I put a power meter on the output of the K3 but it does not detect any output.

Here is how I have the transverter oprtions set up in CONFIG:

XV1 ON - YES
XV1 RF - 144
XV1 IF - 28
XV1 PWR - H 5.0
XV1 OFS - 0.00
XV1 ADR - trn1
KXV3 = not inst

Peculiarly, when I turn the PWR control, the power varies from 0.10MW to 0.50MW. I don't know if this is what normally happens when the KXV3 is installed, but it seems to me that it might be related to my problem. I doubt if my power meter would register half a milliwatt.

Help, please.

Re: Help with K3 transverter setup

OK, it looks like there is a bug here. Someone wrote that they can drive a transverter through the antenna socket with the KXV3 installed, so I tried playing with the KXV3 option. If I set it to installed and back again, the power control shows the high power level (withing the selected range.) But if I change band and then go back to 145MHz again it loses the setting, and I have to go into the menu again. Hopefully this will be an easy one to fix.
