Ordered this on Wed. Sept 1st, and got confirmation it had shipped today
Tue. Sept. 7th. And that's with Labor Day thrown in. Also received an email from Olivia saying that my P3-F will ship in 7-10 days. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
I'm in the process of assembling my KDSP2 kit. I'm at the point of
installing U2; however, I seem to have a problem. Both the components that I think are U2 and U1 do not carry the markings indicated in the manual. Both of my parts that have the physical look of the part referenced in the manual as U2 say "78 MOSCT REC 746 G" on them. According to the manual U2 is supposed to be marked "LM340, 7805" and U1 is supposed to be marked "ATMEGA8L." I don't have parts with either marking. Can anyone help me sort this out? My soldering iron is still hot, but my kit building has ground to a halt, since I find de-soldering not a lot of fun! :-) Tnxs and 73, Carl N8VZ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Carl,
If you look closely at the 3 terminal regulator that is U2, you will see that what you read as "78 MOSCT" is actually "78 M05" which is a proper 5 volt regulator - use it at U2. You should have a 28 pin DIP with a piece of paper on the top with the KDSP2 firmware level. Don't peel the paper off, just believe it is the ATMEGA8L which is to be installed in the socket at U1. 73, Don W3FPR On 9/7/2010 9:23 PM, Carl Jón Denbow wrote: > I'm in the process of assembling my KDSP2 kit. Thanks, Don, for your help. Lyle, KK7P, answered off list and we figured it
out together. Your observations about U2 and U1 labeling were spot on! :-) What was confusing me even more, I think, was that Elecraft actually gave me an extra part (two of the aforementioned U2s). I've now constructed the KDSP2 board, but I can't install it yet, because I need to order new control board firmware. Mine is 1.09 and I need 2.10 or better, according to the DSP board manual. Thanks again for your response!
