I bought the Elecraft HexKey on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday
[yesterday]. I'm *really* impressed. Playing around with it some today on my K2/100, it has a really great feel, is still set as it came out of the box, and I didn't know it came with spell-check but I find that it misspells stuff a lot less than my vanilla Benchers do. :-) There have been a couple of posts about the rubber feet for the HexKey. Mine is rock solid on the desk. I have one "vanilla" Bencher anchored with some double-sided tape because it wanders otherwise [I treat a paddle as a bug and tend to slap it around some]. The HexKey stays put. Someone posted that changing the feet made a big difference. I'm not sure how much better it could get for me, but could you tell me the problem you encountered ... off-line would be great! 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2008 Cal QSO Party 4-5 Oct 08 - www.cqp.org _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I have had my hex-key for quite some time and have enjoyed it. I opened
up the original adjustments a bit, as the magnets were in contact. By breaking that contact, they are then 'floating in tension' and it gives it a nice feel. I have not had problems with the feet, but I use a little swath of anti-slip cloth, available at Wal-Mart, underneath the key. This mainly cause I am heavy handed. Most folks will be just fine with the substantial weight of the paddles keeping the thing in place. Enjoy and Happy Holidays. - David Wilburn [hidden email] K4DGW K2 S/N 5982 On Thu, 2007-12-13 at 16:51 -0800, Fred Jensen wrote: > I bought the Elecraft HexKey on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday > [yesterday].
