Hello,
I do have a K2 and KPA 100 (build-in). For some reason I do get HiCurr messages on a few band (which I didn't get before) I did a test with a dummy (50 Ohm up to 1 Ghz) and a Bird 43 power meter The result is: 28.500 12,3V / 2,66A 100W+ 24.900 12,3V / 2,44A 100W+ 21.150 12,2V / 2,46A 100W+ 18.100 12,1V / 3,72A 100W+ 14.150 12,2V / 3,80A 90W 10.120 12,2V / 3,80A 80W 7.070 12,4V / 2,26A 100W+ 3.550 12,4V / 1,92A 100W+ 1.825 11,9V / 2,10A 90W HiCurr parameter was set to 3,80A Especially 18, 14 and 10 Mc bothers me as there are the currents excessive in relation to the other bands.. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance, 73's, Evert PA2KW _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Evert,
Take a look at KPA100 resistors R19 and R20. If they have blue-gray bodies, they are likely to be inductive (which causes the problem you mentioned). The new non-inductive resistors have reddish-brown bodies andcan be obtained by a note to [hidden email]. Now off to more FDIM/Dayton fun. 73, Don W3FPR Evert Bakker (PA2KW) wrote: > Hello, > > > > I do have a K2 and KPA 100 (build-in). > > For some reason I do get HiCurr messages on a few band (which I didn't get > before) > > I did a test with a dummy (50 Ohm up to 1 Ghz) and a Bird 43 power meter > > > > The result is: > > > > 28.500 12,3V / 2,66A 100W+ > > 24.900 12,3V / 2,44A 100W+ > > 21.150 12,2V / 2,46A 100W+ > > > > 18.100 12,1V / 3,72A 100W+ > > 14.150 12,2V / 3,80A 90W > > 10.120 12,2V / 3,80A 80W > > > > 7.070 12,4V / 2,26A 100W+ > > 3.550 12,4V / 1,92A 100W+ > > 1.825 11,9V / 2,10A 90W > > > > HiCurr parameter was set to 3,80A > > > > Especially 18, 14 and 10 Mc bothers me as there are the currents excessive > in relation to the other bands.. > > What could be wrong? > > > > Thanks in advance, > > > > 73's, Evert PA2KW > > > > _______________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Post to: [hidden email] > You must be a subscriber to post to the list. > Subscriber Info (Addr.
