Horizontal Loop Antenna / Vertical

Craig Smith
Sounds like you're onto something there with the vertical, Kevin.  The wet
Florida ground sounds very promising.

As far as making it "invisible" is concerned, check out Cabella's on the
web.  They are a large mail order source of hunting/fishing supplies.
Search for a "telescoping pole for duck decoys" of all things.  You will
find a telescoping fiberglas pole that is 4 ft long collapsed and 16 feet
tall when extended.  Two other interesting attributes:  It comes in
camouflage colors, both the traditional green/brown stuff and a lighter
"wheat" color that is tan/off-white.  You can color coordinate with your
local trees.  It also costs a grand total of $18!   You might want something
more substantial for the base section, but one of these might top things off
nicely.  While you're there, check out all the other neat panfish and
crappie poles they have.  Again, collapsible and from 10 to 20 feet long.

Have fun with the vertical!
