How its made

Mike K5NU
Rather than the Travel Channel or How Its Made,  maybe the crew from Dirty Jobs should do a show from Aptos.  What with all the solder fumes and static electricity , etc.

Among others I have an SDR-1000 and a K3.  The SDR requires a visual concentration on the monitor screen for all controls and info.  It is not an operating style that I enjoy.  I do enjoy the SDR receiver.  However, I prefer a more auditory centered operating style that allows for my forehead to be on the desk while my right hand slowly turns the vfo dial - with the AFX engaged the K3 is very nice to listen to reminding me of the IMAX theater audio - coming from a panoramic field.

Approaching eligibility for the Half Century Wireless Assoc., I intend to take advantage of my hearing for as long as I can. hi  Low band QRN doesn't help for sure.

May the Force be with you K3PO.

" allows for my forehead to be on the desk"
That sounds like me about 4 AM of an all-night contest :-)
