I just installed the KPA3 - the fans work in the test mode - I let the
config in NOR instead of not installed. I am still only seeing 12 watts out - running the 1.96 firmware that came with it. I set the PA temp according to the sheet - I can not get xmit LP to HP for so reason - any ideas - maybe I'm just tired? The fuse leads are hooked up. Question #2 I know that you have to configure the roofing filter for each mode - Do they need to be configured on each mode on every band or just one of the bands to cover for all bands? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks and 73, Bill N4ZI _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Are you in PA NOR or in PAIO NOR?
You need to be in PA NOR to enable high power. You are right I was on the wrong one, but found the PA NOR and turned off
rig and back on - now it's allright - Ignorance is Bliss - I'm learning My power supply is MFJ 4245MV a 45 amp - I will use til after FD than I will do perm hookup to Astron 70A. Boy I love how this radio can cut power back so accurately - very comparable with my drake W4 wattmeter! WE ARE ALL Fixed!! Yep, that one tripped me up, too. I didn't see the separate PA NOR during testing, and getting a bit myopic these days I didn't spot there were two different settings: PA NOR and PAIO NOR. So I had one of those heart sinking "oh dear, it doesn't work" moments. Possibly something that could be spelt out a bit more clearly in the otherwise admirably thorough installation instructions?
