Hi,
Anyone know how one gets the IF shift for the sub receiver? BW$ gets the bandwidth, but there is no IS$? Any other way to get this? Thanks |
IS; sets both main and sub Rx. 73, ... Joe, W4TV On 4/10/2013 5:57 PM, tomb18 wrote: > Hi, > > Anyone know how one gets the IF shift for the sub receiver? Hmmm, That's true in diversity mode but not in dual watch. Both bandwidth and shift and hi-low controls are completely independent. It's possible to retrieve BW from both receivers but shift only from the main receiver.
Try it, just tap the sub button and use bset. Seems like an omission, unless there is another command? Tom |
All I know is that setting IS for the main RX also sets IS for the sub RX. 73, ... Joe, W4TV On 4/10/2013 7:23 PM, tomb18 wrote: > Hmmm, That's true in diversity mode but not in dual watch. Nope. only in diversity. Otherwise IS only sets the main receiver. If you go into bset it doesn't change it and if you then give a IS; it only reports a question mark. IS never changes the sub receiver shift except in diversity.

Won't setting it in the main and doing A>B twice to copy all to subrx work?

Hi,
Yes A>B will work but if you want to have different filters on the two receivers then you need to set up the sub like you say and then set up the main. I'm writing a K3 interface and I wanted to bring these out so they could be set independently without doing the A>B. Looks like it's not going to be possible. Thank |

*WRONG!* I use it in my mode specific set-up macros in DXKeeper (WinWarbler) to reset the sub RX filters when switching among Phone (IS 1400;), DATA A (IS 9000;), FSK D (IS 9000;) and CW (IS 9000;). If I fail to include the IS command, the sub RX filters are not centered when switching from Phone to CW/DATA A/FSK D because the BW command leaves the center frequency unchanged. I do not use diversity in those modes - I regularly use dual RX. 73, ... Joe, W4TV On 4/10/2013 8:56 PM, tomb18 wrote: > Nope. only in diversity. Otherwise IS only sets the main receiver. That's strange, just tried it. Took DATA A for example, set a width and shift. Went to BSET, set a different shift and BW, went back to the main receiver, set link for the sub mode and issued the commands you mentioned. It reset the main receiver but not the sub. So WinWarbler must do something like an A>B without you knowing it.
The trick of the IS 9000 is cool though...didn't know that existed for resetting the shift. 73's |

Winwarbler/Commander is not doing *anything* other than passing the commands I specify. > The trick of the IS 9000 is cool though...didn't know that existed for > resetting the shift. It's in the programmer's manual. In addition to shifting between phone and other modes, failure to use IS is particularly apparent when jumping between DATA A and FSK D. 73, ... FWIW, the 'IS' command does NOT seem to have an effect on the Sub-RX
for me - e.g. in phone mode, with the sub on (no diversity), if I send "IS 1500;", the main RX shifts, but the sub does not ... until I invoke 'A>B ALL'. I wouldn't have expected IS to affect both receivers. I'm not sure what Joe is experiencing. There does seem to be a case for an 'IS$', or some way of manipulating the Sub-RX IS by command.... wonder if Wayne is listening...... 73, ~iain / N6ML On Wed, Apr 10, 2013 at 8:34 PM, Joe Subich, W4TV <[hidden email]> wrote: > > *WRONG!* I use it in my mode specific set-up macros in DXKeeper > (WinWarbler) to reset the sub RX filters when switching among Phone > (IS 1400;), DATA A (IS 9000;), FSK D (IS 9000;) and CW (IS 9000;). > If I fail to include the IS command, the sub RX filters are not > centered when switching from Phone to CW/DATA A/FSK D because the > BW command leaves the center frequency unchanged. > > I do not use diversity in those modes - I regularly use dual RX. > > 73, > > ... Great....I'm not crazy (lol). Good to have someone else confirm this.
Yes an IS$ would be worth it. I have found a few other things that are missing, when I am finished with my app, I'll post a summary. Thanks |
