Icom/KPA500/KAT500 Question

Ed G-2
Hello,
Our club is currently using an Icom 746PRO transceiver with the KPA500.
We have the Icom band data going to the AUX connector on the rear of the
KPA500, and the amp switches bands with no problem as the Icom is switched.
Anticipating the arrival of our KAT500, I wonder if we should (or could) run
the Icom band data to the KAT500, so it switches bands when the Icom is
switched, then let the RF sensing band-switch the KPA500.  Or - could we use
the Y-Adapter from the KPAK3AUX cableset on the AUX connector on the amp -
with Icom band data going to one side of the Y, and the other side connected
to the KAT500 using the KPAK3AUX cable (which is the same cable as the
E850463?

You don't even need the 'Y' (I think it'd be the wrong gender anyway)
- you can daisy-chain the AUX cable through the KAT500 to the KPA500.
You'll need a separate chain of RCA keying cables, unless you can work
the keying output from the Icom into your custom cable along with the
band data.

So you'd have your custom band-data cable, plus an RCA keying cable,
from the Icom to the KAT500, and a E850463, plus another RCA keying
cable, from the KAT500 to KPA500.
