Important K3 Firmware Update, MCU rev 1.69 (WAS 1.68)

Don Rasmussen
So if I never get above 35 wpm under and
circumstances, I don't need to rush to this update?

A customer just alerted us to a firmware issue in CW
mode. When using
external keying (handkey, computer, or external
computer) or the
internal keyer at over 40 WPM, the K3 may switch to
the wrong receive
VFO frequency, crystal filter, and/or preamp setting
on key-up. It
appears that this behavior has been present since MCU
revision 1.62.

While these symptoms should occur rarely, we recommend
that everyone
update their K3 MCU firmware to revision 1.69. (1.68
had just been
released yesterday.) Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wayne
N6KR

Yes. It can happen in very rare cases at slower speeds.
