Installing Mod kits?

Bill Maddock-2
 Guys,

I have K3 SN # 1059 and plan to install all the mods
short of the new DSP board! My radio doesn't have the sub reciever
so several don't count.   I have 2 AF output mods, and have been
wondering if one doesn't supercede the other. They are

AFOPMDKT - K3 AF OUTPUT MOD KIT

K3AFMDKT  -  K3  AUDIO LINE OUT MOD KIT  This one seems newer?

I have had these for a while and have procrastinated. Now is good time
with 1/2" of ice on all my antennas from storm that passed through
yesterday!

  Thanks for your time,

  Bill Maddock  N4ZI

ps: sure hope the radio works when I'm done!

Re: Installing Mod kits?

Alan Bloom
I believe they are separate modifications with similar names.

The LINE OUT mod kit contains two modifications.  One is to reduce
speaker amplifier distortion at high output levels and the other has a
similar affect on the LINE OUT signal.

The AF Amplifier Output modification adds a couple of pull-down
resistors to the speaker outputs to suppress potentially damaging
voltage spikes that can occur if the outputs are connected to a short
circuit or very low-impedance load.
