I am getting ready to install the SMD AGC mods. The LED chip replacing R101 has two little green dots on it. Can someone give me the orientation of this chip. I don't know which side is the cathode. Thanks, Roy Morris W4WFB

I guess I haven't kept up too closely. Are we doing mods to the K3
already? Is this a factory sanctioned mod? When you have the positive lead on the anode the DMM will indicate a forward biased diode junction and the LED will light up! It won't work with modern DMMs in "ohms" scale because they limit the current too much to avoid damaging parts, but "diode check" works FB. LEDs have higher forward voltages (much higher for blue ones) than ordinary diodes, so some meters may light the diode, but show full scale and some may not even light the diode. My meter will light up to at least green, but shows an off scale drop for even red. -- David Woolley Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
