My KX3, assembled, is due to be delivered in a few days (ordered 28-Aug at the New England Division Hamfest). I am debating whether to sell my SignaLink digimode interface that I used with my TS2000. (I am selling the TS2K to finance the new KX3.)
My question to the group, please, is should I keep the SL for use with the KX3, or can the KX3 operate with my computer directly and simply? (Offers on the TS2K can be made off list!) 73 and thanks, ERIC K1NUN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Eric,
The KX3 may need some sort of interface for digital modes because it has galvanic isolation on the audio lines. So keep it until you get your KX3 up and running so you can experiment between the SL and direct connection to your computer soundcard. I like to be safe and use a galvanic isolator to keep the noise to a minimum. 73, Don W3FPR On 10/1/2012 9:37 PM, K1NUN wrote: > My KX3, assembled, is due to be delivered in a few days (ordered 28-Aug at the New England Division Hamfest). What I *meant* was that the SignaLink has galvanic isolation on the
audio lines - I see that was not clear in my words 73, Don W3FPR ------------------------------------------ Eric, The KX3 may need some sort of interface for digital modes because it has galvanic isolation on the audio lines. Hi Don and Aki, You two have convinced me. I'll hold on to the SignaLink. Thank you. Now, I only have to sell the 'big' rig. 73, ERIC K1NUN -----Original Message----- From: Don Wilhelm <[hidden email]> To: K1NUN <[hidden email]> Cc: elecraft <[hidden email]> Sent: Mon, Oct 1, 2012 10:12 pm Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Is SignaLink needed with KX3?
