Is there a way to use keyer without transmitting?

raroth7
Hi List--

In anticipation of receiving my K3 sometime this spring (I only just
ordered it a couple of weeks ago), I bought a Bencher paddle.  I've
never used an electronic keyer or bug, for that matter.  I haven't been
on HF for over thirty years!

Is there a way to use the keyer in the radio to learn and practice
proper paddle use?

Calmly awaiting my K3 to bring me back on the air after 30 years.

Dick,

That is one purpose of the TEST mode see the Owner's Manual page 25.

Yes, there's a TX TEST mode that is just like transmitting, except
there's no RF produced.
