Doc, K7SO is visiting with his K3. There was lightning in his area prior to the issue developing. There was no direct hit, but may have been a power surge or induced currents.
Here is the problem. On 20m only, there is a higher current than normal on transmit. No other bands seem to be affected. At 20m power levels exceeding 80w, the K3 shuts down. We measured the current and it is close to 30 amps at 80w. My K3 in contrast reads 22amps at 110w out.
Before we dig too deeply into the rig, we wanted to know if this problem has been previously identified by anyone.
