Folks... for your enjoyment and (hopefully) delight):
To observe the 90th anniversary of the First Transcontinental Relay
of Formal Message Traffic, the Mid-MO Amateur Radio Club of Jefferson
City, Missouri, will activate a 24-hour Special Event Station using
call sign "W9C" beginning 2000 UTC on Saturday, January 27, 2007.
The event is in commemoration of the work of 18-year old Willis
Porter Corwin, 9ABD, of Jefferson City who was the third station in
the relay that set the transcontinental record on this date in 1917.
