Hi Guys,
I was transmitting AFSK-A tonight with the K-3 operating at 30 watts
output and driving my amplifier and all was working well. I then
adjusted the K-3's power output control while transmitting and the K-3
power did adjust. This was the first time I ever adjusted the K-3 output
power while transmitting. Is that a problem? Now regardless what I do, the
K-3's output power is only 40% of what the
K-3's digital readout indicates. Such as: when the K-3 digital readout
says the power is set to 100 watts the K-3's RF output indicator and my
external wattmeter both show 40 watts output. And when the K-3 digital readout
indicates power is set for 50 watts the K-3's RF wattmeter and my external
watmeter both indicate only 20 watts.
By the way, when I go to CW mode all is well and the K-3 will put out it's
usual 100 watts.
Firmware Version is 3.68
Right now the maximum power output from my K-3 in AFSK-A Mode is 40 watts.
Any idea how I can correct this problem?
Thanks-
Dick- K9OM
