K1 Backlighting

Rolf Schröder
Hi,
while assembling the backlight LCD for my K1 I am wondering whether I
should replace the paper tape sticking on the right end of the backlight
led (contacts to the left) by clear plastic tape - the thin white
plastic sheet seems to be rather loose.
vy 73 and a happy new year,
DL8BAG, Rolf

Unless the white plastic cover has come completely loose, there is
probably no need to attempt to 'tape' it on.

The paper (masking) tape SHOULD be removed however.

Once the backlight LED assembly is in place, the white plastic cover
will be held in place my the pins of the new LCD display and the fact
that it and the LED are 'sandwiched' together very closely.

IF however the white plastic cover has come completely loose, you may
use a narrow piece of clear tape over either end (or both ends) to
secure it in place.

Happy New Year,
