It would be extremely helpful to aid those with troubleshooting suggestions
for a problem experienced by a K1/K2/KX1 owner if, at the time a help request
is made, the following is reported in addition to the problem description:
1. Identify any component issue exactly by component designation and
location. For example, in a full-house K1 there is a front panel Q1,
a RF board Q1, and noise blanker board Q1.
2. Describe what test equipment is available locally:
a. External receiver
i. General Coverage?
ii. Ham band only?
b. Frequency counter
c. Signal generator, or transmitter that can be used as one
d. Multimeter type and capability
3. Describe what tests have been made and the results.
I'm sure more can be added to the list.
