K1 VFO problem... maybe found the problem

David L DuPuy
Don,     I greatly appreciate your help and suggestions.  I carefully
checked everything you mentioned (using an ohmmeter), and I cannot find any
problems.

However, I think I found the problem !  I cannot read the numbers on FP Q1,
until tomorrow when I pull the front panel off.  However!  I apparently
could not find a 2N4124 at that point, and foolishly concluded that a
substitution had been made with a “4424".  So what I believe I installed at
Q1 is the ZN4424.  At least, I made a note to that effect.  I will take it
apart and check tomorrow.

Now I don’t know what I installed at Q4, so will pull that apart tomorrow
also,  after I confirm that the wrong device is on FP Q1.  Your help led me
to the problem... I greatly appreciate it.  David AC4BN
