K1 battery recommendations?

I've used a deep-cycle marine battery with my K-1 and had good results but now wish to find something lighter.

I've a bunch of individual Li-ion cells and only need the special nickel straps to brew my own lightweight battery pack.  

I've got access to a cell spot welder and charger.

I'd be grateful for a source of small amounts (2 feet would be more than enough) of the special nickel strap material.
