I like my K1 just the way it is.
I usually park it on 14.062 and go about my business
with the computer (have to unplug the printer power
supply due to the noise it generates).
I am ofter greated by a high pitched CQ, I tune down
to the correct freq but often do not had to tune at
all.
I have had many QSOs that way.
I enjoy the wide pass band of the K1 for most QSOs but
the narrow xtal filter does come in handy often.
My antenna? piece of wire, 15', in the room on the
ground floor. Ground is the AC outlet ground.
Gut on the air in October and now have 43 states
worked 36 states QSLed. The K1 ATU is great.
Have some tall trees on this lot that I hope to put up
a double extended Zepp for 20M and use it on the lower
bands also.
K1, great rig want to package it so it is as easy to
travel as my laptop computer.
