K1

W4NU
Dear all,

I am the proud owner of K1 serial #2002. I just got it going at the
first of the week. My 1st kit was a Globe Scout 680A in the summer of
1959 at age 15. For the first time in many years I have that "ole
feeling" again.

The K1 is a superior transceiver, with EXCELLENT technical support, it
is made in America, and the price is cost effective. How could you come
up with a better combination?

I first built a solid state 40 meter cw transceiver in 1976 (along with
a 50 watt amplifier using an MRF-449). It was the Ultra Mountaineer by
W7BBX. Of course technology has advanced a long way since then. I can
honestly say that the K-1 favorably compares with my Ten-Tec Orion
performance wise!! I'm referring to the basic attributes of a good
receiver.

We desperately needed a company like Elecraft to fill in the void left
by Heathkit. It has really advanced the hobby......

73 es best regards,

John Harden, W4NU
Atlanta
(K4JAG 1959 to 1998)
