K1 xmit issue

wd4lst-2
Hi All,
All had been going well with the build of K1 2194 until last night. I started the transmit alignment. Set the output power for 2 watts, entered tune mode for 30 meters, it peaked well (around 2.1 watts by front panel)into a Heath Cantenna dummy load. I was also monitoring the output with a scope(tek tds2012) measuring rms. I then exited tune, went to 40 meters, entered tune mode and it ceased to transmit on all bands. No smoke or sudden excess current draw - It just did not transmit. (front panel indicated .1 watt) I rechecked all receive functions - all ok. re-checked all tune mode dc voltages, and they are all ok as well. I scoped the mixer oscillator (in tune mode) and it does not appear that X6 is doing its thing. All of the dc levels around U8 are there, but no 4.915 MHz at the OSC test point. I also verified RFC2 connections. I was able to see the receive oscillator fine, so I feel confident about my test setup. It is hard to believe that a crystal would work for a minu
te and then fail. I plan on pulling it and checking for the solder problem mentioned in the archives. I guess that I could swap receive and xmit crystals, but I don't like the idea of re-heating a known good rock.
Any other input for tonight's session would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
