K144XV vs. KXV3A

Oliver Dröse
Just read in W6NIA's K144XV eHam review:

"If your K3 is a newer one, the KXV3A is already installed [see Elecraft web
site for the phase-in serial number range]."

Is that true? So if I order a K3 now the KXV3A is already included for nor extra
charge?

Re: [Elecraft] K144XV vs. KXV3A

Matt Zilmer
That was a mistake.  You still have to order the KXV3A and install it,
or pay for it to be factory installed.

My comment should have read that the KXV3A is what will be available
from some point in time forward, for new K3's.  I don't believe that
they're still shipping KXV3's now, but there may be a cut off date if
Elecraft still has inventory.  And a KXV3 still works with external
transverters  The KXV3A is required for the internal 2m module, the
K144XV.

Eric - any clarifiations?

Sorry - fingers won the race with the brain this time.
