I have been trying to track down a issue , I have a K2/100 (KPA100) with a
seperate KAT100 . My power out into a dummy load is the following. This is the 3rd K2 I have owned , the first with the KPA100 installed, they are great contest rigs , I love them..... 28.000mhz= 55w Max. 28.800 = 50w 24.900 = No Output 21.000 = 35w 18.078 = 25w 14.000 = 35w 10.100 = 60w 7.000 = 70w 3.500 = 75w 1.800 = 5 w I have a lot of Federal Taxes to pay this year , and I need to sell the set, I would rather price it repaired with full -output. Cant spend the dollars to send it for repair. Can anyone assist me with the troubleshooting??? Byron,
I hear your problem, but you do need to isolate it to a KPA100 or a base K2 problem. Disconnect the APP power connector from the KPA100 and power the K2 from the 2.1mm coaxial power connector on the lower read panel. Turn the Power Knob up to about 10 watts and see what the output is on all band. If it is 10 watts or greater, go to the extreme and turn if up to full power and see what the maximum power from the base K2 can be. If the base K2 has good power output, but the KPA100 power out is low, that is a KPA100 problem, but if the base K2 power output is low, the KPA100 may be OK and the base K2 may have a problem. 73, Don W3FPR On 3/13/2012 11:11 PM, BYRON ALLEN wrote: > I have been trying to track down a issue , I have a K2/100 (KPA100) with a > seperate KAT100 .
