My fully loaded K2/100 locked up on power-up last night. I wonder if it is an indication of potential problems or a not unexpected random event.
All front panel controls except power level were inoperative, the display showed the last freq. and mode of operation. Power supply off and on did not reset any functions. Rotation of the power level control gave an power level display. However, operating the dot/PTT function reset all functions and normal control was re-established. Any thoughts out there?? Could have been a cosmic ray zap. This is not a joke. Cosmic rays can
pass through a memory chip, altering its contents, and thereby what functions are affected. Happens in computers all the time. Usually a power off-on cycle will clear the problem. Unless it starts to appear with regularity, I could dismiss this as a random event, and not worry about it. - Jim, KL7CC John Stasiw wrote: > My fully loaded K2/100 locked up on power-up last night.
