Bill,
I'm having exactly the same problem. If you look back a couple of
days, you'll find Don Wilhelm's advice on the subject.
I have this problem on cooler days with my K2/100-KAT100 which lives on
a boat. Info80 to start and then everythings ok in say 20 seconds.
My plan is to iosolate the problem to either the k2 or the kat100, then
take whichever apart and examine it closely for spots on the boards.
Don suggested replacing the IC sockets with tinned machined type which
apparently are almost airtight. I'm also considering searching out
some sort of spray to provide a more moisture secure environement for
the electronics although I'm a bit nervous abouit it. Ron d,Eau Clair
has a lot of marine experience. Maybe he can suggest something.

K2/100 #2548 made another trip to field day this year, at the N4N
field day site.
Ran into the same problem as last year. K2 was working the night
before, then in the morning I got INFO 080 upon switching it on. The
KAT100 wasn't recognized, either.
After leaving it switched on for about a half an hour, it returned to
normal operation.
The problem appears to be internal condensation building up in the
K2. Is anyone else encountering this problem? What can be done about it?
