Eric and WayneGreetings!
I am having a fantastic time operating with my newly completed K2/KPA100/KAT100! It's hard to believe anyone could ever top outstanding engineeing job you guys did with the K2. The integration of the KPA100 is a really amazing. It's cool to be able to zoom from 5-watts up to 100 for a moment to shew away QRMers. I'm getting good audio reports on SSB, too. BTW, I never enjoyed operating SSB much, but with this rig, I find myself slipping up to the fone section of the bands, tuning for CQ'ers. The rig is a real joy to use, both CW and SSB. (The KAT100 ain't nothin to sneeze at either.) I'm watching your progress with the K3 and reading the email postings, brochures and manual with great interest. It looks like you've outdone yourselves! vy 73, Jim Jim Stoneback, K4AXF Shenandoah County, VA K2.ssb.100.AT sn 6194 Drake SW8 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. There's something beautiful here. Jim is really enjoying his rig yet
doesn't have all the options. SSB and 100 watts with an antenna tuner. No DSP, no Audio Filter, no 160 module, etc. Yes, Virginia, the bare-bones K2 is a great rig. Standing in the looming shadow of the K3, the K2 remains one absolutely fantastic rig. I can't think of a better rig have to "endure" while you wait for you chance to own a K3! 73 all! - Keith N1AS - - K2 5411.ssb.100 - -----Original Message----- I am having a fantastic time operating with my newly completed K2/KPA100/KAT100! Everytime I look at the Elecraft site, I am impressed by the lineup.
From KX1 up through K3. Great! I am hooked and a new believer. Now to start buying! 73 all, Mr. Carey Magee K2RNY Rochester, NY Grid: FN13ef Quoting "Darwin, Keith" <[hidden email]>: > There's something beautiful here. You mean you DON'T have a K-rig? Oh, man, that's terrible!
I've tried many rigs and the K2 is the only one that has satisfied me for any length of time. Every other rig I've owned began to irritate me after a few months of usage. The K2 just keeps me smiling. And then the K3 was announced. I still love my K2 but am scheming as to how I can get a K3 and still stay happily married!
