In addition to Don's suggestion, I have found this USB-Serial-K2 line to be
very RF sensitive. Make
sure this line is not run over/near your coax. I also use snap-over RF
beads to choke any RF, or at
least minimize, the RF on this line.
I experienced similar symptoms. My problems were minimized with the above
precautions.
