K2 12M/10M BPF Mod - K2 VFO ALC Mod

dave.wilburn
Just opened up the KPA100 and saw the sheet for the mods mentioned
above.  I do not see a statement about them being incorporated after a
certain serial number.  Have they been incorporated?

I looked through the installation manual for my K2, and found most of
the parts referenced, installed with the new values, so I assume that
both of these mods are incorporated in the new builds.

Dave,

That is true - the K2s have included those changes for quite a while
now, but every KPA100 kit contains those parts in support of those who
still have older/non-updated K2s.

Still, it is good that you verified you have the correct values
installed in your K2.

Sure thing.  I identified most, but not all.  I could not find D8
mentioned in the document.  Doesn't mean it isn't in there, just didn't
find it.  I will find my soft copy later and do a search and see if I
can sort out the rest.  If not, I will pop the covers and check.

I think I have the SSB all sorted out.  Haven't had a chance to talk
with anyone nearby today.  Right now working on the inventory for the
KPA100.  Thanks.

K1 Battery Voltage Readout Question

Jozef Hand-Boniakowski
In reply to this post by Don Wilhelm-3
I completed my K1 on 2/26/07 and have worked 44 countries, 27 states and
285 QSOs.  I love the radio and it has performed well.  I have a
question about the battery voltage readout and was wondering if this is
typical or not.  When I put the display function into battery voltage
the LCD reads battery voltage like it is supposed to (i.e. 12.6) and the
display blinks every second or so.  What I also notice is the the
attenuator (ATTN) LED blinks fast ever so slightly at about 10 time per
second.  This blinking is extremely dim even in darkened conditions but
noticeable.  Is this normal.  It only happens in the battery voltage mode.
