K2 1963 On The Air (almost)

Arthur Laurent
Hi, guys.  Just a brief respite, and you can go back to arguing and casting aspersions and libelous assertions about things none of us have any control over.

I just got my K2 #1963 from Randy Allen the builder.  It's SWEET!  (I'd bought it more than a few years ago, gotten it partially assembled, when Life and General Unpleasantness intervened.  I'd re-packed it in its box, which was placed in a box, which was in the bottom of another box.  It just recently surfaced, and of course things at work have been way too busy, so I went looking for a good builder.

Randy Allen is a G-O-O-D builder.  He corrected my assembly mistakes, upgraded the firmware, and finished off the kit -- with all the options except battery, 100W amp and tuner -- in record time.  I installed a Power Pole on it, and fired up the receiver last night.  I heard Argentina on 20 m, with just my 40m loop lying along the baseboard of the spare bedroom.  (Can you tell I still haven't finished moving?)

Thanks, Randy!  I'm looking forward to reading the manual, and doing some transmitting soon.

As you were!
