I just wanted to send a note to Don and Gary and others who offered
suggestions in the repair of my new K2. I had a 20/30 bandpass filter that was down about 70 dB from the others. Well, it turns out that C25 was open! I had Parts send me all the caps in that BP section including the trimmers. They finally arrived today (they had to send them twice because the first shipment was lost in the U.S. Mule.) and I finished the receiver and transmitter calibration with no problems. I certainly appreciate the help that everyone gave me. Now I will attach the speaker and wires and put it all together and enjoy using it while I build up the noise blanker, ADSP, ATU, 160 meter option, SSB module and battery option. Then I can install them one at a time and have it all complete in time for field day! Man, what a receiver! I am most impressed. 73, Pat Haynes-K4BEH _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Pat,
So glad to hear that your problem is resolved. Bad capacitors do not happen very often, but as Murphy says "If it can't happen, it will". Good luck with getting the rest of it together by Field Day - I wish you a fun time. 73, Don W3FPR -----Original Message----- I just wanted to send a note to Don and Gary and others who offered suggestions in the repair of my new K2.
