Subject line says it. Everything has gone perfectly until I hit this.
Manual says I'm probably not on 40 M. VFO says 7030.00. Only non-standard part of build is that I'm using the UnMods kit for all options as well as their Internal Microphone Adaptor. All measurements have been amazingly spot on. Any ideas? Thanks, Gary KJ7RT ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Gary,
Since you are using the Rework Eliminators, did you add the Rework eliminator for the K60XV and add D19 and D20 as well as change the value of C73? from 82 pF to 120 pF? If so, you must follow the instruction to set the secondary menu parameter for D19 to "y". Failure to do that will result in an incorrect VFO frequency on 40 meters, with a resulting failure for CAL PLL. All that is despite the fact that the displayed frequency says it is on the 40 meter band - it actually is not. 73, Don W3FPR Gary W. Marklund wrote: > Subject line says it. Don,
Yes, I did all that. Just checked it. My instructions say it is C71 not C73 that is changed. Other than that, all is as you say. Gary,
OK, it may be C71 - my memory is not perfect and I don't have access to the schematics here while on vacation. Plug the internal counter probe into TP1 and check the frequency with CAL FCTR. If you are tuned to 7100 kHz, the counter should read close to 12015 kHz. You might also want to re-check the PLL Reference oscillator range (probe in TP3). 73, Don W3FPR Gary W. Don,
Well, with egg on face ... When I went to try your last suggestion, the K2 gave me a low battery indication and would go no further. I did a short recharge and the CAL PLL procedure is running as expected. Sorry to have bothered you with this, but thanks for your help.
