This morning I made my first contact with my new K2 (serial #6870)! I enjoyed a
solid CW QSO with K4PHA near Atlanta on a noisy 40-meter band with thunderstorms
in the area. I was running 4 watts into my old Cushcraft R7 trap vertical, and
Ben gave me a nice 559.
I would like to publicly thank all of the members of this list who responded to
the questions that I posted from time to time during construction. With no
intention of offending anyone that I might leave out, I would like to
specifically thank the following people: Don-W3FPR, Gary-KI4GGX, Bill-K6WLM,
Dave-G3TJP, Alan-KA9UCP, Jeff-W7BRS, and Phil-KB1FIY. People like these really
make our hobby the great community that it is.
I would also like to thank the customer support people at Elecraft. In my
experience their help and service is without equal!
