K2 ALC Anomaly Using PTT

Unifiedtx
I have installed the two resistors in the mod that Gary told me about, and
the K2/100 ALC now works as it should.  I am now going to do Gary's mod to my
other K2/100 since it also has the KI6WX mods installed on the KSB2 board.
Thanks again, Gary.  Roy Morris  W4WFB

I'm planning to do the KI6WX mod for 2.5khz SSB bandwidth.

- I'm wondering where is a good source for the capacitors.

- I assume my January 2003 K2 (3194) doesn't need new crystals.

- Since my K2 is a K2/100 is there a mod, as listed below, that is needed?

Re: K2 ALC Anomaly Using PTT

Don Brown-4
Hi

There are several parts to the KI6WX SSB mods. The 2.5 KHz mod only requires changing some capacitors on the SSB board in the crystal filter area. The mod that is affecting the ALC is a separate mod for increasing the gain for low output mics and involves adding a transistor and rewiring the toroids. You do not need to do the changes below if you have not added the transistor for increased gain.
